There has been some question as to the validity of some statements made by the ACT Labor Government regarding condition of various closed sites.
For example, they claim that the Mount Neighbour and Rivett sites are "so dilapidated" that they must be demolished. According to the condition reports, this is misinformation. The ACT Government continues to perpetuate the lies by way of repetition, with some hope that the public will simply believe what has been said, if it is said enough times.
Condition reports, as released by Purdon Consultants last year, prove that not only is Mount Neighbour Primary School not "dilapidated", but that it in fact has the third best condition rating of the closed/closing schools. It also has the third lowest cost to bring the site up to standard. In the case of Rivett Primary School, a major (non-critical re-roofing) cost has been added to the end of the report, inflating costs at that site far beyond the actual critical costs.
Attached to this post are the condition reports for all of the primary school sites, as well as site maintenance summaries of each, so that the public can decide for themselves.
Also attached is a short document comparing the various sites' critical costs and condition ratings, proving that the claims made by the ACT Labor Government have been, and continue to be, untrue.
Addendum:- Purdon's own report on the Mount Neighbour site does not indicate that there are any major infrastructure issues at the site. The report does not use the word "dilapidated" at all, and the word "repair" is used only once throughout the 55 page report.
